Kinship Privacy Policy
Effective July 7, 2026
The short version: Kinship does not collect your data. Everything you log stays on your device, or — if you choose — in your own private iCloud. We have no servers, no analytics, and no way to see anything you write.
Who we are
Kinship is an iOS app made by Bildifi. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email bildifi@bildifi.com.
What Kinship stores — and where
Kinship keeps the information you enter in the app: the people you add (names, an optional emoji, and notes), the moments you log (how an interaction felt, when it happened, optional tags, notes, and duration), and your app settings.
All of it is stored locally on your device. Kinship has no server of its own, and nothing you enter is ever transmitted to us or to any third party.
What we collect
Nothing. Kinship contains no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or personal information of any kind. In App Store terms, the app's privacy label is “Data Not Collected.”
Optional iCloud sync
If you enable iCloud sync (a Premium feature), your Kinship data is stored in the private iCloud database attached to your own Apple Account, so it can sync between your devices. This private database is readable only by your Apple Account — not by us. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
Sync is off by default. You can turn it off at any time in Kinship's settings, and you can remove synced data from iCloud in the iOS Settings app (Apple Account → iCloud → Manage Account Storage).
Purchases
Premium subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, and Apple does not share your identity with us when you subscribe. You can manage or cancel your subscription in the App Store's subscription settings at any time.
Notifications
The optional daily reminder is a local notification, scheduled entirely on your device. No push-notification servers are involved, and enabling reminders sends nothing anywhere.
Widgets
Kinship's widgets display a small summary (top people and recent counts) that the app saves in a shared container on your device. It never leaves your device.
What Kinship never asks for
- Your contacts — you type names yourself, using whatever names you like.
- Your location, photos, camera, or microphone.
- An account, email address, or sign-in of any kind — Kinship has none.
Your data is yours
You can export everything as CSV or PDF at any time from Kinship's settings; exports are generated on your device and go only where you choose to share them. You can delete individual people or moments in the app, and deleting the app deletes all of its local data. If you had iCloud sync enabled, synced data can be removed from iCloud as described above.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that handles data differently — the updated policy will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Since the current app collects nothing, any future change could only add disclosures, and we'd make them plainly.
